Hatz is a globally active, independent specialist for single to four-cylinder diesel engines. Since 1926, Hatz has made use of research, innovation and cutting-edge engineering competencies to develop state-of-the-art, durable diesel engines and technical components, which now belong to the worldwide standard in engine manufacturing.

Hatz engines meet highest quality standards throughout the industry. They are deployed in all application areas, such as construction machines, rail and utility vehicles, generator sets, industrial trucks and ships. At three locations, the family company has a workforce of about 1000 employees, more than 5 percent of whom work in the field of research and development.

The product range of Motorenfabrik Hatz includes three divisions: engines and services (Hatz Diesel), system engineering (Hatz Systems) and components (Hatz Components).

Hatz Diesel

The engine portfolio ranges from small, compact singe-cylinder diesel engines with an output of 1.5 kW to four-cylinder engines with an output of 64 kW. In the segment of air-cooled single, two, three and four-cylinder engines, Hatz is well-known for the reliability and durability of its products across the entire output range. All engines have been developed according to customer requirements and specifications and are the only ones in the output category up to 19 kW that fulfil the strict US exhaust gas regulations (EPA Tier 4 final) and EU Stage V with air cooling.

The latest engine family comprises liquid-cooled three and four-cylinder engines. With their state-of-the-art technology – part of which is unique in the field of industrial engines – they expand the application range in terms of output, size and weight along with extremely low emissions. 

The product portfolio comprises the following engine series:

• B series:
  Air-cooled single-cylinder engines with vertical and horizontal crankshaft, output range from 1.5 to 7.6 kW
• D series:
  Air-cooled single-cylinder engines with vertical and horizontal crankshaft, output range from 7.3 to 11.2 kW
• G series:
  Air-cooled two-cylinder engine, output 15.6 kW
• M series:
  Air-cooled two to four-cylinder engines, encapsulated,
  output range from 14.8 to 56 kW
• L series:
  Air-cooled two to four-cylinder engines, encapsulated,
  output range from 13.5 to 54.2 kW
• H series:
  Liquid-cooled three and four-cylinder engines 
  with Bosch common rail system and turbo charging,
  output range from 18.4 to 64 kW

Hatz Service

Customer and partner proximity and close collaboration are top priorities: The global service network comprises more than 500 service centres including 12 subsidiaries and 114 Hatz representations in more than 120 countries. This setup ensures quick supply of spare parts and replacement systems and a fast response to individual customer needs.

Hatz Systems

For more than 30 years, the business field Hatz Systems has developed system solutions on the basis of industrial engines. This area makes special customer requirements come true. The main focus is on solutions for power and energy supply, scalable power plants, pumping systems and special applications in the maritime and defence sector.
The output of Hatz Systems ranges from 2 kW to several 100 kW. The standard portfolio features readily available, common output sizes in the generator set, pumping technology and ship propulsion product groups. The portfolio also includes intelligent system solutions for the operation of LED technology. The division for special applications mainly concentrates on individual concepts and customer requirements for generator sets powered by industrial engines.

Hatz Components

The business field Hatz Components manufactures high-precision engine and drive elements such as conrods, crankshafts, housings, rotating and control parts for engine manufacturers around the globe. This business field mainly serves the utility vehicle, automotive, motorcycle, agricultural machine and printing machine industries as well as the racing and energy production sectors.
Drawing on the expertise of its internal engine manufacturing operations and the long-standing experience with demanding customers, Hatz is a modern service provider and consultant for customer-specific manufacturing solutions.

The specialist for the production of conrods for the entire range from single-cylinder engines to heavy-duty applications is proficient in mastering all specific requirements. Apart from the shape, oval and deep-hole drilling, this also includes crack technology as well as separation cut and profile toothing. The work involves the machining of high-strength, micro-alloyed steels, aluminium, cast iron and sintered materials as well as the processing of titanium.
